Equality and Diversity

The values of equality and diversity are central to the Fire and Rescue Service. This section looks at the relevant legislative framework, and highlights some of the ways in which fire and rescue services can help to promote these values among their staff.

Networking Women in the Fire Service

Networking Women in the Fire Service (NWFS) was formed in 1993 and now has hundreds of members, providing a solid foundation of support, communication and friendship. Membership of NWFS is open to all women in the fire service, regardless of their role, as well as to men who support the aims of the Network.
