The work of FirePRO

Formed in 2003, FirePRO consists of 80 communications and marketing members from the FRS.

The FirePRO management team is made up of the Honorary President, a Chairman, a Secretary, a Treasurer and eight regional representatives.

The management team meet every two months in different locations around the United Kingdom. This is followed by a regional meeting where information and objectives are passed down to FRS grassroots members.

FirePRO holds an annual AGM where regional representatives and management team members are elected. During the AGM, members develop their current business plans and report on the achievements of the previous year. In addition, the organisation holds a mid-year conference, inviting expert speakers to assist in the development of management team members.

FirePRO is committed to:

  • Sharing the principals of good practice
  • Developing relationships with the CFOA (Chief Fire Officers' Association)
  • Maintaining and building strong working relationships with the Fire Service Improvement Team (FSIT) and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM)
  • Acting in support of the National Community Fire Safety Centre, and the wider community fire safety agenda
  • Acting as a strategic support network to ensure the effective implementation of the modernisation agenda.

Communication and the effective marketing of community safety is at the heart of the modernisation agenda. Achieving the potential of the Fire and Rescue Service, in line with the Government's agenda for safer and more sustainable communities, is the primary objective of FirePRO.
