Terms and conditions of use

The Secretary of State reserves the right to suspend or cancel any part of the FRS Online site at any time without notice.  The Secretary of State is not liable to you in the event that all or any part of the FRS Online site is discontinued, modified or changed in any way.

These terms and conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.  The Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any dispute arising out of or in connection with your use of the FRS Online site.

Liability for content

The Secretary of State endeavours to ensure that the information published on the FRS Online site is accurate.  The information on the FRS Online site is, however, provided "as is" and on an "as available" basis, without any express or implied warranty in relation to the accuracy, availability or completeness of the content and you rely on the information on the FRS Online site at your own risk.  To the maximum extent permitted by law, including, for the avoidance of doubt, in the event of negligence, the Secretary of State does not accept any liability for the accuracy, availability or completeness of the content.

Copyright

Most of the material featured on the FRS Online site is either Crown copyright or has its copyright vested in the Crown ("Crown Copyright Material"). 

Crown Copyright Material (other than the Royal Arms and departmental or agency logos) may be downloaded free of charge to file or printer and then further reproduced free of charge in any format or medium without requiring specific permission provided that:

(a)          the download and/or reproduction is done for the purpose of:

I.               research; or

II.              private study; or

III.             internal circulation within an organisation; and

(b)          the material is reproduced accurately and is not used in a derogatory manner or in a misleading context; and

(c)          the source of the material (including URL) is identified and the copyright status acknowledged.

Any other use of the material featured on the FRS Online site which is Crown Copyright Material requires prior consent from the Office of Public Sector Information.  Applications should be made to:

You do not have to ask permission from the Secretary of State to link directly to pages hosted on the FRS Online site.  However, the Secretary of State does not permit use of the Royal Arms, departmental or agency logos as promotional or hypertext objects.
