What information does Communities and Local Government gather?

If you choose to use the voluntary “Contact Us” part of the FRS Online site, Communities and Local Government may collect basic information about you such as your first name, last name, organisation, e-mail address and telephone number. 

Information about you may also be collected indirectly through the FRS Online site access logs or cookies. The latter occurs automatically when you access the FRS Online site. Information thus obtained does not identify you personally and Communities and Local Government does not collect sensitive personal information, such as your political or religious beliefs, ethnic background or sexual preference.

Other websites linked from the FRS Online site are not covered by this privacy policy.

 Why does Communities and Local Government collect this information and how does it use it?

The personal information that is obtained from you is used and/or held by us in order that we can communicate with you in the manner requested by you and in accordance with this policy. Communities and Local Government collects the information it does only for the purpose of responding to your queries and information requests.

Disclosure of personal information

All personal information is processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Communities and Local Government will not pass on any personal data collected from you via the FRS Online site to any third party (except our contractors providing the FRS Online service) or any other government department unless you grant or have granted permission or Communities and Local Government is required by law to do so.
